Helpsy.ai as an alternative to SiteGPT

SiteGPT and Helpsy solve the same problem: a chatbot that answers from your own pages. The differences show up in the data centre, the entry price, and the small print behind the message count.

How SiteGPT bills

Billed in: messages, depending on the model

SiteGPT states its allowances per model: the vendor quotes a much higher figure for the smaller model than for the large one, with any mix in between. The eye-catching number therefore only ever applies to the weaker model. Helpsy draws no such distinction — a visitor question is one message, whichever model answers it.

With Helpsy one visitor question counts as exactly one message — regardless of the model and regardless of how long the answer is. The bot's own replies are not counted at all.

We deliberately state no prices here. Tariffs change, and a figure that goes stale on our page would be a false statement about a competitor. Their current terms are on their own page: https://sitegpt.ai/pricing

What speaks for Helpsy

Hosted in the EU

The language models run on Azure OpenAI in the EU. Your data does not leave European jurisdiction.

GDPR compliant

The data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is included and available directly in your account.

Deleted after 90 days

Conversations are removed automatically after 90 days. There is nothing for you to clean up.

No training on your data

Your content and your customers' conversations are not used to train AI models.

No VAT added

As a small business under § 19 UStG we invoice without VAT. The price shown is the price you pay.

Works in your language

The interface is available in German, English and Italian. The chatbot itself understands and answers in virtually any language.

Where SiteGPT may be the better fit

In fairness: SiteGPT lets you pick the stronger model deliberately, supports very extensive training, and provides a calculator for estimating your own consumption up front. If you need to ingest very large amounts of content or want to choose the model yourself, that is the better fit.

Where the bot's knowledge comes from

The bot invents nothing. It answers from four sources you fill yourself — and says so when it does not know something.

Your website

You supply the addresses, Helpsy reads the pages and makes the text searchable.

Frequently asked questions

Question and answer pairs you maintain yourself. They take precedence where the website contradicts them.

Documents

Price lists, spec sheets, house rules — whatever exists as a file need not go onto the website first.

Product details

Name, description and price per product, so the bot can get specific once someone intends to buy.

On paid plans Helpsy re-checks the stored pages for changes and re-reads only what actually changed: weekly on Starter, every three days on Professional, daily on Business. A changed opening time reaches the bot without you having to remember it.

Moving from SiteGPT in four steps

Switching takes an afternoon, not a project. Nothing needs exporting from SiteGPT: Helpsy reads your website itself and builds the bot's knowledge from it.

  1. Sign up for free

No credit card. The free plan covers 100 visitor questions a month — enough for a real test in day-to-day use.

  2. Add your website

You enter your address and Helpsy reads the pages. On paid plans that knowledge is then kept up to date automatically.

  3. Fill the gaps

Frequently asked questions, documents and product details can be added directly. Whatever you maintained as FAQs in SiteGPT can be pasted in here.

  4. Swap the snippet

One line of code before the closing </body> tag, then remove the old snippet. Step-by-step guides are included for WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Jimdo, Squarespace, Webflow and TYPO3.

To compare the two, you can install Helpsy on a single page first and leave your current bot in place everywhere else.

Common questions about switching

Do I have to export my content from SiteGPT?
No. Helpsy reads your website itself and builds the bot's knowledge from it. Frequently asked questions, documents and product details can be added on top.
Where is my data held?
In the EU. The language models run on Azure OpenAI inside the European legal area. The Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement is available in your account.
What happens to my customers' conversations?
They are deleted automatically after 90 days. They are not used to train AI models — neither your content nor the conversations.
Do I need someone who can write code?
No. Installation is one line of code before the closing </body> tag of your website. Step-by-step guides exist for WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Jimdo, Squarespace, Webflow and TYPO3.
What does switching cost?
Nothing. You can start on the free plan, and paid plans can be cancelled monthly. There is no setup fee and no minimum term.
Does every answer count against my allowance?
No. Only your visitors' questions are counted, not the bot's answers. One question is one message, however long the answer turns out to be.

Try it yourself

The free plan includes 100 messages a month, no credit card required. Paid plans can be cancelled monthly.
