Credits are not messages
The allowances cannot be placed side by side as if they matched: Chatbase bills in credits, and per the vendor's own documentation a single reply costs 2 to 6 credits depending on the AI model. Additional automations multiply consumption further. A credit allowance therefore buys considerably fewer replies than the number suggests.
With Helpsy one visitor question counts as exactly one message — regardless of the model and regardless of how long the answer is. The bot's own replies are not counted at all.
What speaks for Helpsy
- Hosted in the EU — The language models run on Azure OpenAI in the EU. Your data does not leave European jurisdiction.
- GDPR compliant — The data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is included and available directly in your account.
- Deleted after 90 days — Conversations are removed automatically after 90 days. There is nothing for you to clean up.
- No training on your data — Your content and your customers' conversations are not used to train AI models.
- No VAT added — As a small business under § 19 UStG we invoice without VAT. The price shown is the price you pay.
- Works in your language — The interface is available in German, English and Italian. The chatbot itself understands and answers in virtually any language.
Where Chatbase may be the better fit
In fairness: Chatbase lists SOC 2 and HIPAA on its own pricing page, includes more agents and team members on the higher plans, and offers a choice of many AI models. If you need one of those certifications, work with a larger team, or want a specific model, you are better served there.
